BACKGROUND

My life began in Winston Salem, North Carolina in 1983. At age four, I relocated to Charlotte, NC to live out the rest of my years until college. Ever since I popped out of the womb I've always loved doing anything creative. This passion progressed from  complex tree fort constructions and comic book drawings till more formal undertakings when I reached high school. I attended a local area Catholic school where I was introduced to many other forms of art and design. I began to paint, draw, and work in every medium I could get my rambunctious little adolescent hands on. Finally, the time came for me to spread my wings and head south- deep south, in Auburn Alabama to attend Auburn University and study a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus in graphic design. Here I was introduced to many realms of graphic design, photography, art, and many other mediums to express my creativity through.

I became very interested in graphic arts and drew inspiration from designers like Saul Bass, Herbert Matter, El Lissitzky, Milton Gaser, and Paula Scher. I then finished out my years on the Plains, developing a deep profound passion for my work and a desire to evlolve my concepts and viusual solutions while in college. I also grew to love some SEC football... WAR EAGLE! Upon graduating I returned to Charlotte to pursue a career that would enable me to further improve my graphical skills. After a brief internship with a local design agency, Moonlight Creative Group, I accepted a job with a local graphic and exhibit house in 2004. With ACI design, I tackle an array of tasks, including designing layouts for various formats of print, large format, and web. I have further developed my exhitbit designs by mastering  a new architectural program, Vectorworks. Check out the renderings on my portfolio page. ACI Design offers an array of fine exhibits and has been a forefront exhibit house in the Carolinas for nearly 20 years. I would encourage you to visit ACI Design for all your tradeshow graphics, exhibits, and services.

In 2008 I made move to shift back to print-based design by coming to work with AAA Carolinas as a in-house graphic designer. I handle an array of projects from the layout of Go Magazine, a 1.4 million circulation member magazine, to virtually every printed piece of collateral that comes out of AAA. 2009 looks to be a good year and will hopefully bring on some exciting new graphic opportunities. Well that’s about it, I hope this wasn’t too painful to read - but if you made it this far that’s better than most...thanks.

DESIGNER'S PROCESS

I also thought you may wish to know about a few of my ideas on design and my work ethic. I learned to design and compose visual solutions through a heavy process of sketches, then roughs, and finally compositions. I have a strong typographic background with a firm grasp on layout and dynamic design techniques. I always design with great attention to detail, yet have an excellent ability to multitask and meet deadlines. I am an extremely organized person, which is  an asset in this industry. I am confident that can deliver strong, visual solutions to your every graphic and marketing material. Contact me today to learn how we work together on your next project.

LOOKING AHEAD

As I move forward in my life, I yearn to accomplish many things. Many of which I cannot divulge due to the confidential nature of my insanely prosperous business plans. Seriously however, I plan to bring Stout Ideas to higher level. In the near future, I will open an office and start my own agency. Until this dream is reached, I will continue to freelance. Please contact me for any of your graphic needs. I am bred from the Stout family, otherwise known as the work-a-holic. I will do what ever it takes to make sure that you are getting the best anyone can offer on every project. Other than my business ideas, I also want to be a professional fly-fisherman/chef and get paid to do it.
